Jasmine grew up in Aurora, Ontario and graduated an arts-focused program at Dr. G. W. Williams Secondary School in 2001. She was Editor of the school Yearbook, twice, involved in school council, and an Honours student. When not in class or working on extra-curriculars, you could usually find Jasmine in the darkroom developing black and white photos.
After high school, Jasmine attended the film program at the University of Winnipeg and has been working as a freelance photographer ever since. She has shown in galleries and has done work for newspapers, the Internet, corporations and fashion models, with assignments taking her from photographing downtown Forest Hill to the 2008 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole. She also assistant-taught an advanced photography course at Ryerson Polytechnic University in 2001.
In 2008, Jasmine opened Studio Jaz Photography, pursuing her life-long dream of being an artist and professional photographer. She specializes in photojournalistic wedding photography, commercial photography and portraiture.
Jasmine has also been accepted into the elite Photojournalism program at Loyalist College and is expected to graduate in 2011. She will continue her freelance work while in school. You can expect to see her already excellent work improve in technical quality over the course of her program. |
